NCLR Salutes Congress and the Paycheck Fairness Act

(Washington, D.C., August 5, 2008)—Last week, in a 247-178 vote, Congress passed the Paycheck Fairness Act. Introduced by Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), the bill aims to eliminate the wage disparity between men and women through strengthening the Equal Pay Act and closing loopholes that have allowed employers to justify wage discrimination. This is a massive victory for women in the workforce and NCLR applauds Congress for overwhelmingly supporting this legislation.
